Life claim (nominee)

Death certificate, policyholder's ID, and nominee ID. We handle the FIR coordination if required.

Photos of the damage, an approximate date, and a police FIR for theft or malicious damage. Our assessor visits within 48 hours.

What counts as "day zero" on the 48-hour promise?
The clock starts the moment we have the complete documents checklist (listed in clause 4.2 of your policy). If documents are missing, your advisor flags exactly what's needed — the clock pauses until we receive them, then resumes.
Can I claim from my phone?
Yes — the Kawach app (iOS/Android) handles the full journey: submit, upload photos, sign digitally, track status, and receive funds. 92% of 2025 claims never needed a paper signature.
What if my claim is denied?
You get a written explanation citing the exact policy clause within 48 hours. You can appeal internally (reviewed by a different adjuster) free of charge, or escalate to IRDAI's ombudsman. Last year, 1.2% of claims were denied; 24% of appeals were overturned in the customer's favour.
Does filing a claim raise my premium?
No. Your premium is locked for life at issue, regardless of claim history. We do ask for your feedback on the process — both the good and the bad — to keep improving.
